Winter Programme 2017

Saturday January 14th- Jon & Jan Sloan will give a talk on creating custom-built nesting-boxes for barn-owls and the installation of cameras to record findings and events.

Saturday February 12th- Transylvanian botanist Razvan Chishu lives in Cheshire and will give a talk on the famous wildflower meadows of his home country and how they are managed.

Saturday March 11th- The MFS AGM, followed by a talk by Brayton Holt, accompanied by slides, of his early experiences of bird-watching, part of a longer talk entitles "Coast".

Winter indoor meetings for the season 2016 / 2017 were held on the second Saturday of each winter month at 2.30pm - 5.30pm in the Methodist Schoolroom, 13 High Street, Welshpool SY21 7JP.
Saturday November 12th
Change of speaker due to unforeseen circumstances.
Rob McBride, tree hunter and film maker will be with instead of Rob Dingle. He has recently been recording all the veteran trees along Offa's Dyke so we shall see some of this ancient monument after all.

Saturday February 11th
Razvan Chisu. A Romanian botanist talking about Transylvanian wild plants and meadows and their traditional management. Prince Charles describes the area as 'the last corner of Europe, where true sustainability and complete resilience remains and the entire Eco-system is maintained to the benefit of the whole planet.'
